BACKGROUND:

  • Born and raised in Saskatchewan
  • Graduated as an Electrical Engineering Technologist
  • Employed at the University of Saskatchewan in the Facilities Management Division for 30 years as a Operations & Design Manager
  • 4 year credit sculpture class at the University of Saskatchewan - 1986 to 1990

 SCULPTURE RELATED EXPERIENCE:

  • 2007 – participated in the Saskatoon Meewasin’s Winter White at the Riverfront snow carving event.
  • 2006 – participated (team captain) in the Air Canada International Snow Sculpture Challenge - Whitehorse Snow Carving Competition - February, 2006
  • 2005 – participated (team captain) in the Winterlude Snow Sculpture Competition in Ottawa (5 day competition)
  • 1998 – partipated in a 3 day concrete sculpture workshop in Saskatoon
  • 1995 - participated in a wood carving symposium at Big River Saskatchewan
  • 1995 - participated in a snow sculpture symposium in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
  • 1994/95 - participated in a snow sculpture symposium in Saskatoon and one in Big River, Sask.
  • 1993 - participated as an artist and organizer in the International Sculpture Symposium held on the University of Saskatchewan campus. I carved a 10 ton sculpture during the 3 week symposium.
  • 1990 - participated in a stone carving sculpture symposium in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
  • 1989 - assisted Bill Epp (local sculptor & professor) in a 4 day metal casting workshop which was presented to the Desert Sculptor's Association in Las Vegas Nevada.
  • 1989 - participated on a collaborative sculpture as one of the eleven artists in the Prairie Rendezvous Sculpture Symposium. The project was a 75 ton stone sculpture at the A.L. Cole site in Saskatoon.
  • 1987 & 1988 - enrolled in a one week portrait sculpture class at the Emma Lake Art Camp in Saskatchewan.
  • 1987 - as a volunteer in the Sculpture Symposium in Saskatoon I worked on the site doing electrical, lighting and scaffolding setups. I also assisted two artists in roughing their stone sculptures and produced a small Tyndalestone sculpture (approx. 3 ft. high).
  • 1986 - enrolled in the 4 year credit sculpture class at the University of Saskatchewan.
  • 1985 - attended a 12 week woodcarving course put on by the local community college.

  • CARFAC, Saskatchewan (Canadian Artists Representation le Front des Artistes Canadiens)
  • Past member of the University of Saskatchewan Art Committee of Council.
